I'm sure this would be the shield of Sant Jordi if it didn't have a red cross on a white background. With this exlibris, I wanted to recover the heraldic tradition of family shields, which have been part of exlibris designs for centuries, creating what could be the shield of this festivity celebrated on Book Day.

For centuries, book collections have been marked with family crests. Although today it may seem like a disused tradition, for centuries the vast majority of books were marked with heraldic shields that provided us with information about which family was the owner of that collection of books.
